A | Colombo, Oct 12 (UNI) Residents in and around a prominent town in Sri Lanka's tea estates are in panic after sighting leopards roaming freely, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. The animals have been sighted in the Ruwanpura and Kudagama areas near Hatton town, the Daily Mirror reported. "People in these villages claim that leopards often stray into their areas and that they are gripped with the fear of being attacked," it said. Several dogs and chicken have disappeared, and it is suspected that these would have been hunted by the mountain leopards, it added. UNI MR。
